Established in January 2006, the purpose of the Multicultural Center at West Chester University is to
- PROMOTE multicultural student success by serving as a home-base and point for coordination of programs, services, and referrals
- SERVE as a campus gathering place and resource/programming
center for all students and other members of the University
community to enhance awareness and appreciation of diversity
- PROVIDE a space for prospective and first-year multicultural students
to identify with as they anticipate and begin their collegiate experience
- CONTRIBUTE to multicultural alumni relations by having a place where former students can identify with when they return to campus for visits
The center serves as a home-base for students in
- The OMA Mentoring Program
- The Board of Governors(BOG) Scholars Summer Institute and Support Program
- Multicultural student organizations
- The Multicultural Organizational Advisory Board (MOAB)
The Multicultural Center is also a campus resource for information and programs on diversity and multiculturalism.
The center is located on the ground floor of Sykes Student Union, Room 003, adjacent to the University Bookstore and the Sykes Theatre.
