Residence Hall End-of-Semester Closing

The North Campus traditional residence halls and South Campus Apartment Complex close for the semester on May 11, 2012, at 6:00 pm.  All students must check-out 24 hours after their last final exam, or if their last exam is on Friday, by 6:00 pm.  Graduating seniors should plan to check out by 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12.

It is necessary that all residents check out correctly.  Residents failing to return their room key will be charged a fee of $30.00.  Students should follow their hall’s checkout procedures to avoid complications or billing.

Residents are expected to read information sent via e-mail and distributed through their Resident Assistant to find out information about the checkout procedure.  Residents are responsible for following this information correctly.  The Resident Director/Graduate Hall Director will do a final inspection of each room after the residence hall closes.  Additional charges may be billed to one or both residents if damages are discovered during this inspection, even if they had not previously been noted by a Resident Assistant.

For more information about check-out procedures, please check our home page; closing information will be posted in the “Announcements” area in early- to mid-April.

Housing for 2012-2013

At this time, we are only accepting waitlist applications for housing beginning April 23.  This housing application process does not guarantee a student a space for 2012-2013.  We encourage students who wish to complete a waitlist application to also consider housing options off-campus. Waitlist applications are available in 202 Lawrence beginning April 23, and are not processed until the summer months.

Any questions regarding this information should be directed to the Office of Residence Life and Housing Services at housing@wcupa.edu or 610-436-3306. Questions regarding Allegheny Hall, Brandywine Hall, University Hall or The Village at West Chester University, can be directed to the University Student Housing staff at info@wcuhousing.com or 610-436-4030.

For Parents of Incoming Resident Students

Transfer students who are admitted as an on-campus resident student should complete their online Transfer Housing Preference form as soon as possible.  The appropriate housing application materials will be sent on a rolling basis, starting in April, after that form is received and the $400 Admission/Housing deposit has been paid.

All incoming students (both first-year and transfers) who were admitted as on-campus residents and who have paid their $400 Admission/Housing deposit AND have completed their online Housing Preference Form, will be sent the appropriate housing information packet or e-mail on a rolling basis.   Please refer to your student’s individual packet or e-mail for the applicable deadlines.  After the student’s deadline, on-campus housing is forfeited.

Students may request another resident student as a roommate.  This process will occur electronically, and instructions will be sent to residents of traditional halls in May.

Any questions regarding this information can be directed to the Office of Residence Life and Housing Services at housing@wcupa.edu or 610-436-3306.
