Our Program:
Our program provides a variety of developmentally appropriate learning experiences for the preschool child in group and individualized instruction. A structured schedule allows for active and quiet play, large and small group interactions, and inside and outside experiences. Activities are designed to encourage creativity, experimentation, and problem-solving; to develop independence; and, to foster a positive self-image.
Learning through hands-on exploration occurs in discovery centers, including creative art, math and science, blocks/construction, dramatic play, manipulatives, computers, library and listening area, and sand/water play. Weekly programs outside of the Center environment include Music Education and Physical Education. These programs are supervised by a faculty member and implemented by the students registered in the University courses.
Campus resources incorporated into the curriculum are the University library, swimming pool, playing fields, gymnasium, video theater and cafeteria. Field trips off-campus are provided for children ages four years and up.

Our Philosophy:
The Center's philosophy is to provide a warm and nurturing environment that promotes the individual development of each child in the areas of social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth. Self-esteem is viewed as a fundamental goal and is encouraged through positive reinforcement, decision making and self help opportunities. Caring teachers provide a setting allowing for experimentation, diverse experiences for learning, and opportunities for spontaneous play. The Center recognizes that children learn as they investigate, explore and experiment with their environment.
