Lending Library

The Division of Student Affairs is pleased to announce the receipt of a grant for $2000.00 from the Target Foundation for the Children’s Center Lending Library.

The Children’s Center Lending Library is a program that has been carefully designed to provide an avenue for families to interact with their child to develop essential literacy skills and to foster interest in reading. 

The Children’s Center Lending Library will be a place where students can visit with their family member and sign out a bagged set of learning materials that will be able to go home with a child for a maximum of one week.  The child will have an opportunity to choose from curriculum related materials, issues-related materials, and some fun materials.  The bag sets will include illustrated reading material, and one or two other activity types including a plush or manipulative toy, along with an activity card that provides structured cross-curriculum learning experiences designed to allow concepts to be carried through in play and/or activity.  The child and family member will be able to utilize all of the materials in the set to read and play at home.
