The daily program is directed by Sandy Jones, Summer in Sykes Coordinator with over 30 years of experience educating young childrenUnder the direction of Ms. Jones the WCU Children’s Center developed and implemented a successful and active summer camp program for elementary children. The focus was on developing the “whole child” by providing opportunities for campers to grow in self -esteem and independence and by valuing the importance of play and cooperative learning.

Our summer counselor(s) will be chosen from an excellent group of University students. Our program focuses on staff with strong leadership experience and a knowledge of group dynamics and team building. We are interested in staff who have a commitment and interest in working with children.
