w/2.5 GPA) or Fitness Center Monitor (2.5), or fitness center desk associate (2.25) you must
get an application from the Fitness Center.
INFORMATION DESK UNION ASSOCIATES (2.25 CGPA) The information desk
associate is required to provide clear and concise information, via telephone or in
person, about the Union, University, and/or Community. The desk is open M-Th, 8a-12a, Fri 8a-2a, Sat 8a- 12a and Sun, 10a-12a. Staff average 6 hours per week, plus 12-14 weekend shifts (3-4 hours in length) per semester. Employees often opt to pick a few shifts in a weekend to schedule some weekends off.
COPY CENTER UNION ASSOCIATES (2.25) The copy center attendant is responsible
for running the Sykes Copy Center. They are responsible for making copies, laminations,
and the cash register. This person must be computer and technology focused.
Preference is given to students with Mac computer knowledge. The center is open M-Th, 9a-8p, Fri 11a-7p, and Sun, 4-8p. Staff average 6 hours per week, plus 12-14 weekend shifts (3-4 hours in length) per semester. Some weekend shifts are at the Information Desk. Employees often opt to pick a few shifts in a weekend to schedule some weekends off.
STUDENT DIRECTOR (2.5 CGPA) The Sykes Union Student Director is responsible
for assisting in the managerial and operational aspects of running Sykes. The
Student Director acts as an extension of the central building administrative staff.
As such, the SD is fully charged and authorized to run the facility. The SD also
acts as a supervisor to the other Sykes Union employees listed above. As the primary operating staff for Sykes Student Union, this staff covers the hours M-W, 7:30a-12:30a, Th/F 8a-2:30a, Sat 8a- 12:30a and Sun, 10a-12:30a. Staff average 7 hours per week and 8 hours on the weekend. Employees are responsible for a certain number of shifts per semester therefore it may not be necessary to work every weekend.
