The Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation was created in 1979
at the bequest of Mrs. Newcombe, a Philadelphia philanthropist. The Foundation provides scholarship funds to select colleges
and universities for mature/second career women undergraduate students to complete their education and prepare for careers. To learn more about the Newcombe Foundation, click here.
Each year, WCU receives approximately $35,000 from the Newcombe Foundation to award scholarships to students. Undergraduate women who are age 25+, have completed at least 60 credits, and are currently enrolled in 9+ credits are eligible.
Newcombe scholarship applications are mailed to qualified students once each January, applications are due in March, and award recipients are chosen in April.
