WELCOME website visitor to the WCU Women's Center's homepage!

As director of the center, I encourage you to browse all the information here on our page and to call us or come see us in person. The center and its activities are open to all members of the WCU community and anyone else who might find them worthwhile. We welcome suggestions, ideas and volunteers.

Women's center provides:

  • A place to study, have a friendly chat and a cup of coffee or tea, make new friends, get involved in women focused activities.
  • Books, pamphlets, support and referral for concerns such as relationship problems, sexual harassment, acquaintance rape, eating disorders, etc.
  • A library and resource files on topics of concerns to women such as: health issues, child care/ parenting, co-dependency, communication, equality, feminism, gender issues, ethics and culture, leadership, lunar calendar, careers, music, poetry, sex and sexuality, college life, women studies... and a lot more!!

Volunteer Opportunities

You can:

  • Write and distribute our newsletter
  • Post activities/event notices for the center
  • Update and beautify the bulletin boards
  • Attend women's Center events
  • Answer phones
  • Help with planning and implementation of programs such as AIDS prevention program, women's poetry group, cultural events, Women's Center outings, hiking and camping trips...

Regular Meeting

Women’s Center Club meets in center on Monday night at 6pm. This organization welcomes all students interested in women’s issues, women’s equality and the empowerment of women.

Interested in a Women’s Center program but unable to attend? We are happy to provide information one to one or organize a special program for your group or organization.
