West Chester University requires the Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA)
to determine your eligibility for financial aid. West Chester University's
Federal Title IV code is 003328.
Students are encouraged to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid - (FAFSA) on the web by the MARCH 1st priority deadline. Completing the FAFSA by the priority deadline will help to ensure the timely processing and delivery of your financial aid package. You must use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to electronically sign your FAFSA. The PIN can be
obtained as part of the FAFSA completion process and is required for the student and parent signatures.
a) To apply for Federal Student
Loans you must indicate your interest in a loan by your response to
question #31 on the (FAFSA).
b) To apply for Federal Work
Study - you must indicate your interest in work study by your response to
question #31 on the (FAFSA) AND complete a
West Chester University Student Employment Application. The priority deadline for the Student Employment Application is also March 1st.
c) The information from your FAFSA will be sent directly to your state grant agency by the Department of Education. You will be notified by your state grant agency of your eligibility and if additional information is required.
Incoming
freshman and transfer students eligible students will be notified of their
financial aid awards via a Financial Aid Award Notification Letter, beginning in April. Letters are mailed home.
Spring transfer students should monitor their records via MYWCU.
Currently enrolled students will not be packaged until Spring grades are posted and the academic progress process is complete. Aid packages will then be available via MYWCU for eligible students.

Once packaged, information is available on-line via MYWCU, to those students who have paid their deposits. The award letter contains important information. Please read it carefully.
The Estimated Cost on the Financial Aid Award Notices are NOT the ACTUAL charges. The items are expenses a student attending West Chester University may incur. Students must comply with the eligibility
requirements governing the aid they have been awarded.
Aid may not appear on a student's account for applications filed after the March 1st deadline. Student loans must be accepted to appear on the account.
Students should contact the Bursar's office concerning billing process.
The submission of an unsigned, incorrect,
incomplete FAFSA will delay and or negatively
impact your aid package. Please
check your FAFSA for completeness and accuracy.
