Accounting
The Department of Accounting offers a full program of accounting courses that will prepare you for entrance into the fields of public, private, or government accounting. If you successfully complete the curriculum, you should be adequately prepared to take the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) and Certified Management Accounting (CMA) examinations.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the accounting program understand accounting concepts and theory as well as business administration. They have the education necessary to excel in the accounting field.

Undergraduate Accomplishments
A Certificate of Merit was awarded to West Chester University students for having the third highest score on the Pennsylvania CPA examinations in 1984, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1995, and 2002. In 1997 we had the student with the highest score in Pennsylvania. During the 15-year period from 1988 - 2003, graduates participating as first-time candidates in the CPA examinations achieved the second highest "parts passed" percentage of all Pennsylvania colleges and universities.
