WCU Energy Conservation Policy |
|
| |
| |
To reduce energy consumption and costs during the
spring and fall, the University implemented a policy of no heating or no cooling
providing normal weather conditions prevail. This is a redistribution of that policy which
was promulgated in May 1991. Weather conditions and forecasts will be monitored closely by
the Facilities Management staff and accommodations made for temperature extremes as follows: |

Provided outside shade temperatures remain between 62° and 80° F., the above guidelines will be observed.
As weather conditions necessitate, exceptions will be made for:
1) Infirmary
2) Buildings with fixed, inoperable windows
3) Schmucker Science Center and Merion Science Center
4) Lawrence Hall
5) Printing and Graphics
6) Mitchell Hall
7) Residence halls heating as low overnight temperatures dictate
8) Swope Music Building and The Performing Arts Center
9) Sykes Student Union
Measures will also be taken to reduce heating and cooling
requirements and costs on long weekends and during holiday periods. |
