Dr. Linda Lawmers

The Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost fosters collaboration among faculty, staff, and students at the University and facilitates changes in policies and practices that affect the academic life of the campus community. Dr. Lamwers began at West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 1995 as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost.

Before coming to West Chester University, Dr. Lamwers served as the Assistant/Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at St. Cloud State University, where she was also a professor of Psychology. Among her awards and honors are the St. Cloud State University Outstanding Contribution Award to Minority Students and Minority Student Programs and national news coverage of her research analyzing states' resources, population characteristics, and educational outcomes. She has served as an American Council on Education Fellow and as an American Association of State Colleges and Universities Fellow.

Dr. Linda Lamwers holds a B.A. in Psychology from Douglass College and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Cognitive and Developmental Psychology from Rutgers University. Her post-graduate study has included extensive work in the area of academic leadership. She is widely published in her field, with special interest in higher-education issues related to student development.
