Congratulations on your admission to West Chester University. We look forward to personally welcoming you to our university community. We are sure you have a lot of questions and hope to answer them in this section of our website.
You will receive a formal admission packet either by mail (undergraduate students) or by email (graduate students). In addition to your acceptance letter, this package will include the documents you must complete and submit to us before we issue you an I–20. In order for the International Office to issue you the I–20, the International Office must submit the Certificate of Eligibility.
Remember: The International Office does not make admission decisions and we are a separate office from the Undergraduate Admissions Office and the Graduate Admissions Office. The above documents should be submitted to the International office and should not be included with your application materials.
We will verify that you have paid your acceptance deposit. Once we have received the above forms and documentation, we will issue your I–20. At the time we issue your I–20, we will send you an e–mail alerting you that your I–20 has been issued. In that e–mail we will also send you your SEVIS number. That number will allow you to pay your SEVIS FEE and make your visa appointment at the American Embassy
All I–20s are mailed by Foreign Air Mail. We do no express mail any I–20s. You should receive your I–20 within 7–10 days from the date it is mailed. If you have a trusted contact in the United States who is willing to express mail your I–20, you will need to contact the International Office via e–mail and give your permission for this individual to receive your I–20 and mail it to you.
