Department Life: Events The following activities and events exist to foster the academic and professional development of WCU Economics and Finance students: Scholastic Achievements Recognition The College of Business and Public Affairs recognizes students who scored the highest grade point averages in their junior and senior years. The respective awards are made by both the Dean of the CBPA and the student's major department. Graduating Seniors' Exit Interview All graduating seniors take part in an exit interview with the Economics and Finance Chairperson. The purpose of the interview is to obtain outgoing students' perspective of the strengths and weaknesses of the Economics and Finance department programs. This feedback mechanism has helped faculty members make innovative revisions to academic curriculum where appropriate. Alumni Night This is an event hosted that is by the Economics and Finance Society at least once a year. At this event, recent graduates (alumni) offer advice and counsel to current students on curricular, social and career-related matters.
