| Master of Social Work - Mission Statement | |
The Graduate Social Work Department provides a quality, affordable and accessible Master of Social Work degree. It prepares graduates who think critically, communicate effectively, understand diversity in varied community contexts, and practice competently with individuals, families and communities. In addition, the program furthers the needs of the disempowered and demonstrates commitment to life long learning and evaluation of practice. The faculty provides leadership in promoting scholarly research and professional service.
Steeped in the tradition of public education, West Chester University provides access to a wide spectrum of the Commonwealth's citizens and values the richness of diversity of its student body, faculty, and staff. The Graduate Social Work Department complements the university's mission of social responsibility. It offers men and women an opportunity to achieve a Master of Social Work degree and prepare for a professional career in an evolving, complex, technological and global society.
