Comparative Literature
The Comparative Literature Studies program provides a challenging
curriculum option for students interested in interdisciplinary studies.
The student, in consultation with an adviser, develops his/her own
program with an international, interdisciplinary focus.
The program's chief purposes are to enrich the student's knowledge and
understanding of literatures and cultures outside the Western tradition
and to emphasize the connections between literatures within the framework
Western culture. The program's concentration on the humanities satisfies
the requirements of professional, which currently expect their students
to integrate disciplines and focus on the relationship between cultures.
