Where Our Graduates Go

The philosophy major develops skills essential for any career: the ability to think clearly, analyze situations, and solve problems. It enables a student to understand and work with people of different backgrounds and to express oneself effectively. The emphasis is on preparation for leadership.

Philosophy opens the way to a wide range of careers, including those in business, industry, education, and government. This major is recommended as the basic foundation for graduate work in law and religion. Graduates of the West Chester University philosophy program now serve as executives, attorneys, clergy, physicians, editors, computer specialists, teachers, college professors, and in many other capacities.
