Graduate Certificate in Business Ethics

The Program

The Graduate Certificate in Business Ethics at West Chester University is designed for business professionals who wish to increase their knowledge of business ethics. The program offers training in moral reasoning within the business setting for those with undergraduate degrees who have met the entrance requirements.  Students will learn how to analyze moral issues in the workplace and gain skill in ascertaining the most justifiable courses of action.

The certificate is offered by WCU’s Department of Philosophy. The philosophy department has offered a graduate program leading to the master’s degree for over 35 years; and its faculty members are strong in both theoretical and applied ethics. Focused electives are drawn from the course offerings of other WCU departments such as Management, Women’s Studies, and Criminal Justice.

 The Curriculum

The certificate consists of two required courses—PHI 512 Ethical Theories and PHI 580 Business Ethics—and three focused electives selected under advisement.
