Teaching young adults in the university environment is interesting,
exciting, and fulfilling.  It's something I have aspired to do
since being a student myself.  But without the experience I gained
working in law enforcement and corrections for 20 years, the classroom
theory would be void of practical application.  Theory, idealism, and 
dreams must be tempered by the realities of life if they are to be
meaningful.
