Placement Test
Students who wish to take the online placement test to test out of the language requirement must take the test onsite in the Language Learning Center at 200 Main Hall.
The only scores that will be accepted are those achieved through onsite testing in the LLC.
Students must sign up personally to take the test, either in the LLC, by phone 610 436 2328, or by email to the director of the LLC, Marlies Persch, mpersch@wcupa.edu. She will provide instructions and the times when the test will be administered.
Students wishing to place into a particular level of language course study should also contact Mrs. Persch for procedures for equivalency placement. For testing in French, German or Spanish, students may use the following site:

THE PLACEMENT TEST IS TAKEN FOR THE EXPRESS PURPOSE OF INDICATING THE LEVEL AT WHICH A STUDENT SHOULD BEGIN HIS OR HER STUDY OF THE LANGUAGE OR QUALIFY FOR EXEMPTION FROM A LOWER LEVEL OF STUDY. Students do not receive university credit for any language course they place out of on the placement test. Credit for such courses may be obtained by signing up during drop/add and taking the CLEP or Credit by Exam for up to two courses BEFORE enrolling in a higher level course.
Minors and majors in a language must still complete the full number of courses required by the department, regardless of their beginning level of study.
