Guadeloupe Study Abroad Program

Please be advised that Guadeloupe is going through a period of political turmoil and that anyone planning to study there should check first with the U.S. State Department or consult their website for updates on the current situation.

The Department of Languages and Cultures offers assistance in planning study in Guadeloupe in Summer 2010 for interested advanced undergraduate and graduate students at the Media Langues Caraibes Institute. Classes will be offered in French during the mornings, and there will be available numerous excursions around the island in the afternoons and evenings, including sites, markets, festivals. Students will live with families and have opportunities for many meaningful contacts. Dr. Anne-Marie Moscatelli, amoscatelli@wcupa.edu, is coordinating the program for the department. She offers a course on campus May 25-June 4 on francophone culture, FRE 311-80 and FRE 520-80. Students will enroll directly at the Media Langues Caraibes Institute in Guadeloupe for 2, 4, or 6 week sessions, for 3 transfer credits for each two weeks of work.
