Richard Boccelli, B.S. '49
- Athlete, musician, television and film actor
- Played varsity football and baseball, West Chester University
- Original drummer with Bill Haley's Comets of Rock Around the Clock fame
- Performed on Ed Sullivan Show and with such stars as Milton Berle and Sammy Kaye
- Appeared in "Kojac" on TV and in seven motion pictures
- Teacher, baseball and football coach, Springfield High School
- Assisted his blind father with his Blind Artists Concerts Organization
- Began acting career in 1967, performing in many plays in theaters, including on broadway
- Member, International Hall of Fame as one of original Comets

- Chairman of the Armed Services Readiness Subcommittee
- His "Oceans Agenda" legislation passed the Congress in 1995 increasing funding for oceaenographic research projects
- Co-authored the Family Medical Leave Act
- Made improving relations with Russia one of his major efforts in the House
- Former teacher in Delaware County Schools and a volunteer firefighter
