"The National Visionary Leadership Project unites generations of African Americans, both elders and young people, in an exciting new venture. They are working together to tell, preserve, and disseminate worldwide, the first-person stories of their past, while creating a strong educational foundation for the young vibrant leaders of the future."

The Fredrick Douglass Institute works along side the NVLP in preserving the past for the advancement of future generations. To learn more about the National Visionary Leadership Project, please visit their website at: http://www.visionaryproject.com .

The Visionary Heritage Fellowship Program

The Visionary Heritage Fellowship Program provides the opportunity for select students to engage in inspiring outreach work. It offers 30 students the chance to learn from local and national visionaries through direct dialogue, informal mentorship, and video documentation.

The project provides its participants the chance to receive full academic credit for their work, the opportunity to attend a totally subsidized training and leadership development conference, and much more.
