The Institute for Educational Excellence and Entrepreneurship (3E Institute) is an outreach initiative of the College of Education that works collaboratively with WCU faculty and students, K-12 educators and schools, business and industry, organizations and the community. The Institute identifies, supports, and mentors entrepreneurial educators who collaborate with colleagues, parents, businesses, and the community to meet the educational needs of all students. |
Entrepreneurial Educators:
Teacher Education Curriculum Reform – This initiative, developed under a grant from the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE), prepares educators to change systems, build coalitions, organize resources and use opportunities to improve teaching and learning.

Educator 500 – identifies, rewards, and supports entrepreneurial educators who develop innovative projects and programs that incorporate collaboration, business partnerships, and parent/community involvement. | ![]() |
WCU Student Teacher Educator 500 – WCU students demonstrate the rudiments of Educator 500 as creator or participating instructor of a school learning project completed during their student teaching semester. They compete for a prize to the project judged the winner by a WCU faculty panel.
3E Institute Website – portal to the 3E learning community. The Educator 500 database of 300 projects is accessed through the website. Also, look for posts of the latest 3E news, articles, archives, resources and other information. The website is the platform for launching 3E Ignition e-newsletters and other 3E messaging.
