Message from the President

As the 14th president of West Chester University of Pennsylvania, I take great pride in welcoming you to one of the top regional comprehensive public universities in the country. Whether you are able to enjoy a visit to the historical WCU campus or will simply browse our Web page, I am sure you will find ours to be a highly inviting campus. It is a place that is dedicated to the success of its students, as reflected in the passion and excitement for learning that are shared between our faculty and their students. Our nearly 80,000 alumni are bringing value to their lives, families, communities, and country as a result of their WCU education. They are highly successful as physicians, lawyers, scientists, political leaders, business leaders, entrepreneurs, teachers, and professors and in many other professions. The highly respected Kiplinger’s magazine names WCU among the best buys in American public higher education for its quality programs and value.

West Chester University is proud to be a university where all students feel welcome, are able to succeed, and enjoy their student years. Known widely for its values, WCU prides itself on the civility and respect that are evident across our diverse campus community. The University is large enough to offer a wide variety of exceptional academic programs, yet small enough to invest in each individual student. We are members of a campus community that – with over 200 clubs and organizations as well as many service-learning activities – provides almost unlimited opportunity to get involved and make friends. As members of the WCU campus community, we support one another. This support extends well beyond graduation, when the University and its active network of alumni are ready to help launch and advance the career of a fellow “Golden Ram.”
