A Message from the Dean

Dean Adams

Welcome to the College of Health Sciences (CHS) at West Chester University.

This is an exciting time to study the health sciences, as career opportunities in the healthcare industry continue to grow. The CHS is proud to offer 20 undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs in health, nursing, nutrition, kinesiology, communication disorders and athletic training.

We work with 12 accrediting bodies to ensure curricular excellence within each program and in the coming year, we look forward to the addition of doctoral studies, an increase in distance education courses and satellite facilities, and more opportunities for students to study abroad. Our faculty is committed to providing graduates with a well-rounded and comprehensive education that includes research, internships and community service in their field; preparing them for success in their careers.

As a nursing professional, I have enjoyed work in higher education, government advocacy and community service. I have seen the boundless opportunities in the field, and feel privileged to participate in the education of the next generation of these professionals. I encourage you to explore your interest in the health sciences, and to begin your journey by reviewing the CHS website and learning about the many programs available here at WCU.

If you require additional information, our staff and faculty are available to answer your questions in the Sturzebecker Health Sciences Center on South Campus.
