What is Employee Self-Service ("ESS")?
Over the past few weeks, you have seen announcements regarding pay stubs and leave requests in our Employee Self-Service portal (“ESS”), but did you know there are many additional items you can view in the system?
ESS allows employees to view:
-Payroll Statements (current and past)
-Benefit plans, coverage, dependents and contributions
-Addresses and other personal data
-TSA and other savings contributions
How to Access ESS
Click Here or visit http://www.wcupa.edu/hr/ess/default.asp to access the ESS portal and additional training materials. Your username and password are the same as your everyday login.
Exciting Upcoming Changes in ESS:
Electronic Pay Stubs
Effective with the pay date of December 17, 2010, employees with direct deposit will no longer receive paper pay stubs. You can still access your pay stub by logging into the ESS portal and selecting Employee Self-Service/Payroll/ Online Pay Statement. This will enable you to print pay stubs only when needed, rather than having to receive them every pay period even if you do not need them.
***Employees that receive a paper check will continue to receive them in the usual manner.
Employee Leave Requests
Recently, the University has begun utilization of employee submission of leave requests in ESS. This feature allows employees to submit leave requests to their supervisors and also allows supervisors to approve the leave request all electronically without the hassle of a paper form. We already have 10% of our employees utilizing this feature and we have gotten a lot of positive feedback regarding the new process. Departments not already using this feature will be notified accordingly when your group is ready to be rolled out.
