How many sessions are offered a week by RAM Group Fitness?
There are between 35-40 sessions offered every week within the semester. Sessions are offered 6 days a week!
What do I need to do to be able to participate in RAM Group Fitness?
You must be a current WCU student or member of the Student Recreation Center.
Does it cost anything to participate?
RAM Group Fitness sessions are free to the WCU students and members of the Student Recreation Center.
Where are RAM Group Fitness sessions located?
Sessions are located on the first and second floor of the Student Recreation Center. There are 3 studios: room 020 = Studio A, room 024 = Studio B, and room 105 = Studio C.
Are there sign ups for the sessions?
Participation is on a first come, first serve basis. Dependent on the room size and session format, it is up to the instructor to decide the safe number of participants.
How difficult or strenuous are the sessions?
Difficulty depends on the session and personal fitness levels. Session descriptions can be found on the back of the Group Fitness class schedule or online.
How do I become a RAM Group Fitness Instructor?
Applications can be found at the West Chester Student Recreation Center or online under the "Student Employment" tab.
Drop off applications at the Student Recreation Center. Applications must be filled out completely and must include two letters of reference.
We are always accepting applications for instructors certified in AFAA, AAAI/ISMA, ACE, NETA, or other specialty certifications such as Yoga, Piloxing®, PiYo™, BODYPUMP™, and more.

What kind of training have the Group Fitness Instructors had?
Our Group Fitness instructors are hired through Campus Recreation. All of our instructors are current WCU students. The instructors are either certified through recognized group fitness trainings, or they are certified in a specific format such as Piloxing®, Zumba®, PiYo™ and more!
