Liz Staruch works with both the dance and musical theatre programs in the Department of Theatre and Dance at West Chester University. Her concert work has been presented in North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and most recently at the Community Education Center in Philadelphia and at Dance New Amsterdam in NYC. The site-specific dance film The Camera Betrays You, of which she co-conceived and directed with Mark O'Maley, was recently honored and selected for the Northeast region gala concert by the American College Dance Festival. She was recently elected to a 3-year term on the national board of the American College Dance Association (formerly ACDFA) representing the Northeast region. Among her WCU musical theatre credits are Godspell and The Rocky Horror Show (director/choreographer), and The Pajama Game and Assassins (choreographer). Her musical theatre choreography has earned several awards from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, including a national commendation for WCU's production of Hair!. Before coming to WCU, she was on faculty at DeSales University, Elon University, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she received her MFA in Choreography.
