MainStage Theatre
The fully equipped MainStage Theatre, with attached dressing rooms, is where we produce most of our major productions. Installation of a new tension wire lighting grid was completed in November 1999. This state-of-the-art lighting grid allows our technicians and designers to hang and focus a production quickly, safely, and with more control than we have ever had before. In January 2001, a new dimmer system and computer lighting board was added. Fall 2001, new drapes were installed throughout the theatre.
J. Peter Adler Studio Theatre
With the renovation to the MainStage, we can now use our proscenium StudioStage to fully support student work. The StudioStage hosts the work of our emerging student playwrights, experimental productions, and projects from theatre department performance courses. In the winter of 2000 new seating, carpets, paint, and overhead lighting was installed. To complement the MainStage, new soft goods were hung in September 2001.
Technical and Performance Labs
Construction on our new makeup studio was completed in fall 1999, and as a result, a considerably larger space has been created for our costume studio. The design studio has also been upgraded, and site improvements have been made in the acting studio that will allow more flexibility in teaching the performance courses.
A computer-aided design lab was completed in fall 2002 semester. This lab, made possible by an Academic Initiatives Grant, includes 6 PC's, a 48" plotter, and multiple applications of AutoCAD 2000.
