Education
BA in History and Drama, Washington College
MA in Theatre, Villanova University

Karen has worked professionally in the Greater Philadelphia theatre community as a director, producer, administrator, stage manager, and consultant since 2000.  She has also worked at the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia since January of 2003 and serving as its Director of Programs & Services since early 2004. 

One of her most successful ventures is the Alliance's Spark program creating professional development opportunities for small and emerging theatre companies.  She has also served as producer of the 2005 & 2007 Spark Showcase Festivals of 10 minute plays.  During her time at the Theatre Alliance, she has produced four Barrymore Awards. 

As a director, she has worked for 1812 Productions, and the Philly Fringe as well as her own company Madhouse Theater Company where she serves as Co-Artistic Director.  She also serves on the Board of Flashpoint Theatre Company.  In addition to all companies mentioned, she has also proudly worked for The Wilma Theater, Villanova Theatre, and the Live Arts and Philly Fringe Festivals.
