Deciding where to attend college is one of the more important decisions you'll make and I'm glad to see you are considering West Chester University and our School of Music. With our state-of-the-art facilities in the Swope Music Building, internationally renowned faculty and supportive campus environment 25 miles southwest of Philadelphia, students find our high quality program to be a great value and excellent preparation for their future.

Because of our focus on a quality undergraduate experience combined with our moderate size, our students are afforded the opportunity to participate in a variety of ensembles, orchestras and performances while receiving individualized attention and instruction from active professionals in their field. The breadth and depth of our engaging curriculum prepares students for an array of musical professions and, consistently, our students enjoy successful careers and graduate school opportunities at prestigious institutions upon graduation.

As the Undergraduate Program Counselor, I am here to assist you in being a successful music student from admission to the University through graduation. Whether you're an incoming freshman trying to navigate the newness of campus or a transfer student wondering how your credits transferred in, I'm here to help.

As you may be aware, entrance into the School of Music is by audition only, after acceptance to the University. Be sure to apply early to ensure the Admissions Office has enough time to process your application prior to our audition dates. School of Music audition information, including audition dates, requirements and sample aurals, written theory and sight-singing examples can be found on this website. Please keep in mind that an audition invitation can only be extended after academic acceptance to West Chester University.

I want to help you make the best choice for your future college career and I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have about the School of Music or West Chester University. I hope to hear from you soon.

Best wishes,
Allen Taylor
