Bayard Rustin Award
The Bayard
Rustin Award
The Bayard Rustin Award will be given to a faculty/staff
person and a student once per year by the Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual, and Transgendered Committee and the Office of
Multicultural Affairs. The award winners are announced during
the LGBT Spring Awards Reception. The recipients will exhibit
the following attributes that were embodied by Bayard Rustin:
- Compassion
for others

Non-violent conflict resolution
- Integrity
- Courage
(overcoming fear to do action)

Sensitivity
- Valuing
the mentoring relationship
